The Gilded Compass
"Every horizon is a promise. Every port is a story."
Overview
The Gilded Compass is a merchant-adventurer company with roots in Limsa Lominsa's trading culture. Founded by a retired Yellowjacket officer and a Lalafellin cartographer, the company has grown into one of the more recognisable names on the Balmung server — known for its elaborate expeditions, its well-stocked Mist estate, and its reputation for throwing the best parties in the Mist.
Lore Notes
The company's name comes from a compass that the co-founder Mira Saltbrook claims was given to her by a Roegadyn sea-witch who told her it would always point toward 'what matters most'. The compass has no needle. Mira insists this is the point.
